Just discovered a modern type of notgelds: miniassegni

By pure luck I discovered a thing I considered as a bearer cheque from Italy was not really a cheque but a modern paper notgeld made in the 1970's to look like a cheque: a miniassegno. There is a wiki page to describe miniassegni in English, German and Italian only. But what is better to show an example of this paper money...

Great find, very interesting.
It is, what it is, or is it.
Very interesting! From what I just read these were issued between 1975 and 1978 when inflation spiked to more than 25% in Italy. The Lira dropped from 650/$ in 1976 to 830/$ in 1977. That same year the Deutschmark appreciated from 2.50DM/$ to 2.30DM/$. That's quite an earthquake in European monetary balances. Actually with the Euro an even larger earthquake is building up but nobody knows how that will unfold.

Even in those days 100 Lire was only small change. But apparently there was such monetary stress that currency became so scarce that private banks resorted to printing notes like this.

Yes, its true, and also one is building up in the US, you can only have so much debt.

Also very interesting bills, thanks for sharing.
Taking a break from swapping for a while, but still interested in pre 1799 Spanish coins, I will make time for that!
