Roman Coin Identification [solved]

5 posts
I'm not a massive Roman coin person, so I'm having a lot of trouble trying to identify this one. It's silver in colour (which I assume means it must be silver) but I couldn't find any matches that fit both the design and lettering. In fact, I couldn't find anything at all that matched the lettering.

I found this one that has a similar reverse...

...however the figure on my coin appears to be holding a staff/rod/stick pointing up to the top-right of the coin.

I hope someone can help identify the emperor/period or the specific coin if it is possible!

Thanks in advance =]

Alternatively, does anyone know of any Numista users that specialise in Roman coinage that I might contact directly for help?

Look on the french forum
I have learned from users on the French forum that it is from Septimius Severus. After a bit of searching with the clue that my coin reads 'VICT PART' I have found a coin very similar to mine but not exactly the same.

The lettering on mine is spaced differently.
Diameter is 1.7cm and weight is 2.63g.
Just found out that it is RIC# 142a after all.

"The reverse legend appears to be: VICT PA-RT-HI-C-AE (others seen for this type include: VICT P-AR-T-HI-C-AE)"

Mystery solved!
