Senonges is a small village of the Vosges mountains in the eponymous department.
Impossible to find any castle around, even with
streetview.
It's an advertising token : Peasant of the Vosges - Patented - Owner of the Senonges castle - by Darney Vosges
some other token add "Peasant of the Vosges and her son" but ... what was producing this gorgeous peasant of the Vosges ?
Vosges are well known for milk and candy and there is a
candy factory in Darney, next to Senonges.
There were also in Darney, a glass factory:
a cutlery factory :

and a career of grinding stones

The obverse is type "Ceres imitated" likely ~1890, there are other advertising token with the
same obverse face
Senonges, late 19th century:

with the most charmant cottage of Senonges bordering the forest:

So my idea is that a factory of candies located at Darney was producing and selling under the brand "The peasant of the Vosges"
... until proven otherwise
