Ancient Greece

4 posts
Hello,

I have this coin but I can't identify it.

- Weight : 3,76 g
- Diameter : 17 mm
- Metal : bronze?

On the reverse I can read ΗΣ. The first letter can be Δ, Λ, A or M and the fourth one perhaps Ω.

I have tried every possible combinations but it doesn't match an ancient greek city.

Any idea?

There is already a discussion thread for this coin:

https://fr.numista.com/forum/topic51439.html

It would be better to go there rather than start anew.

EDIT: Oh! I see, that was in French, this is in English, but those who want to help should try to see how far we got with it in the French thread! ``-

People who don't speak french don't go on the french side of Numista so I have created a new topic here.

Anyway thank you very much for your help on the french forum ;)

True, but if they just look at the key words in Greek, click on the links, etc., that should help. People usually don't know how easy it is to get something out of text in a foreign language even when you don't read it. (Admittedly, with Arabic or Urdu, you need some basic introduction ...)

Let's hope some more help will come your way.

If those bloody Athenians, Corinthians, Thebans, Euboeans, Spartans, Delphians, Thessalians, Miletans, etc. etc. etc. had united as a single nation, we wouldn't have so many problems identifying their coins!! :8D
