Edit 2: I'll just give you the answer. It should be 1945-date, because the only change that happened in 1975 was that the English term for the Ethiopian curreny change from Dollar to the local name - Birr.

The only slight issue here is that there are some coins belonging to the "Second Birr" that are dated 1944 - a result, perhaps, of the complex calendar conversion required for these coins. It seems, though, that these coins became official currency in 1945.
As the referee for Ethiopia, I would like to request that the name for the Ethiopian currency currently labeled as "
Ethiopia - Birr (1976-date)" be changed to "Ethiopia - Birr (1945-date)", as
ngdawa has suggested. This is in line with everything I have read, and corresponds to the information provided here:
