Wish list and "Coins that may interest me/him/her"

Sorry if this has been clarified somewhere else.

First question: Is there any purpose to the coin Wish List other than my own personal reference? Are members wish lists not made public?

Second question: How does the website calculate "Coins that may interest me" or "him/her"?
At first I thought this was connected to someone's Wish List, but now I'm not sure.

Your wishlist can't be seen by others but it is used in the calculation of coin interest numbers. When you look under 'My wishes' you can see the Venn diagram and how the wish list gets incorporated.

Many members don't setup their wishes/wants and leave them on the default settings so the numbers for interests are often not reliable in a possible swap scenario.

I suppose this option ONLY goes as deep as the type, but not the year and mint mark? So of no use for me at all!
