Its been a while since i visited "Numista" site.
I'm here now to ask about an old bible i found in my home cleaning, belonged to my grand grandfater.
I'll provide couple of interesting pictures from it.
Can you tell me more info about it, where can i contact expert online or maybe how much its rare or worth!
Bad thing is that its in rough condition as you can see, it has 280 pages !
Also other 2x things that i have no info about. I know the one item was like a pedant or something like jewelry that was attached on traditional Macedonian wearings, like holed silver coins were used .
Second thing is like a rock, but i doubt in it, magnet doesnt attach to it, its half my palm(longest side from it its 8.5cm,thick 3cm) and its heavy around 6-7kg(measured long time ago) ... It looks it was something big, this is just a piece from it .
Some years ago someone showed me an 1830s Finnish missal in order to get a sense of the value (and obviously in the hope I would buy it from him). I looked it up and found out that almost all religious books such as Bibles, prayer books, missals, etc. are rather common since back then everybody was a believer and had his/her own.
Given the condition, and the fact that it's not that old (it's a 1905 printing) I would be surprised if this one had any collector's value. I suggest you don't read it ─especially not the Old Testament─ except if you're interested to know what people used to believe.
I once found an early 1800s Bible in Old Swedish in a used bookstore which was in very good condition. I bought it since it was only a few dollars and I had a friend who would very much like to have it.
Quote: "Jarcek"Just stop it right here guys, when it is still time. Some of us might be pastafarians and be offended just by mention of another religion.
Lol, first time hearing something like this that even exists
There's a Wikipedia page on the FSM. While it is some sort of a joke, the tenants of the religion make important points about the separation of state and church and about the separation of science and faith in the classroom.
