Exonumia for a coin collector?

5 posts • viewed 126 times

Hi,

I am cleaning up my coin table and finding a bit of everything, amongst those metal pieces, also some tokens, but what do I do with them? I'm absolutely not going to collect something everybody can produce, where there is no proper references etc. If I identify them (mostly with your help), I can put them in my excel swap list, I already have some in there, but nobody seems to be interested.

But if I do that, I am kind of already starting to collect, because they have been identified and put aside with the info. I have decided to let them sleep in a box without having been identified. That way I don't spend your time either.  I used to just give them away to a friend in Seattle, but he is no longer amongst us, so how to get rid of them? Throw them in my garden costs me nothing!

Just curious to hear what others do with tokens, when not collecting, but getting them anyway in bulk deals.

People often gather all their corroded/damaged coins and/or token/exonumia items and sell them off in bigger lots for a few bucks.

You can either sell them online or to a local coin shop or the flea market in Saint-Ouen because when I was in Paris and Versailles there was plenty of coin shops with their bargain buckets where they might appreciate a influx of Exonumia into their inventory.

Hi to whoever is reading this. Did you know that TYPEWRITER (on a QWERTY keyboard) is the longest word you can type using only the letters on one row of the keyboard.

You can sell them on Ebay, or any other e-commerce website of your choice. 🙂

Why not identify them, put them in your swap list and toss them back in the box. Someone may, in time, be interested.
