Hi,

I just noticed some discrepancies in the grade names between English and French, especially with the cgb auction house/shop.

Currently it's a follows:

But here's the problem:

Looking at a listed auction result on Numista from cgb, the grade they give is TTB40

https://www.cgb.fr/5-francs-napoleon-empereur-republique-francaise-1808-strasbourg-f-306-4-ttb40,fmd_345387,a.html

And when you click on that grade on their website, they have a table with the equivalent English grades:

But there it shows that TTB40 equals EF (XF). That doesn't match the grades listed on Numista. In fact, I saw a LOT of cgb auction results with that problem. The grade seems to be shifted by one with almost every cgb auction result listed on Numista.

So where is the problem and how should we deal with that?

Numista uses not really the Sheldon system but with the expansion to lower grades it also not completely used the descriptive one anymore.

Just to make the problem here a bit clearer:

Currently, when a user wants to register an auction sale from cgb, it makes a huge difference if they set the website to French or English.

The same result would go into two different Numista grade brackets, because TTB and XF are not the same on Numista. And that's the case for all the grades below UNC/FDC.
